December 2015 Thirteen incredible friends decided to travel through Thailand together for the holidays, little did we all know Mr. Danze had a lot more in his backpack then just jumper cables!
During our 14 day trip Alex kept on asking to go shopping for a smaller backpack because his was just too big, well everyone just offered space in theirs and I even offered my fanny pack but nothing was good enough. He was on a mission the whole 2 weeks to buy a backpack but since we had adventures planned everyday the time for backpack shopping never happened. Until 3 days before our trip was over Alex stayed behind on one of the best adventures because he wanted to "Relax" which is not like Alex. While the whole group was gone for 12 hours he got his backpack, a nice massage, a new silver bracelet and found some really pretty beaches and view points to hang out at. He was so excited to show me pictures on his phone of all these spots he found, asking me which one I wanted to check out before our trip was over. I never got the hints at ALL!
The next day the whole group celebrated New Years eve and had one of the best nights of our trip together. January first was our final day in this beautiful country and some of us were enjoying the pool and some noticed Alex's eager energetic spirit that day. Alex wakes me up from a nap telling me we have to go on a motorcycle ride to watch the last sunset at one of his secret spots. As I am getting ready Alex is telling me to grab a blanket, some wine glasses and wine. Our friend Michael hears him say this in the kitchen and we both laugh thinking what has gotten into Alex because first he doesn't drink wine and why is he being so romantic? Still NO clue.
We head straight up this dirt road into the jungle to get to this view point on top of this mountain, when it starts to rain a little and I am scared were going to skid out of control so I am being a stick in the mud because I don't want to end up in the hospital. We get to this incredible view of Phuket but now the clouds have come in and the bugs were attacking us both. He beings to tell me how much he loves me but we do this all the time so I didn't even notice what was about to happen. He realizes were both getting eaten alive so he asks if i'd rather go sit at the beach? So we leave that first stop. Once we hit the beach he tell me he wants to walk out to the farthest rocks in the water so we do so and both his sandals break and we start slipping all over the wet rocks. So we decide just to sit right where we were at. After a few moments the clouds began to clear and the beautiful sun started to set. While this is all happening Alex is turning the speaker on in the backpack and messing with the volume (Well this is what I thought he was doing at least). He started to ask me questions about us and began to tell me the reasons he loves me and then BOOM he pulls out this box!! I immediately think he got me a matching silver bracelet like the one he got from the Thai market the day before! I was wrong! He opened the box and I about died. I had no idea this was in store and I was in total shock. Poor Alex had a few mishaps on this proposal but the fact that not everything went perfect makes it even more perfect! This was the best trip of my life in more ways then one!! |
