Jamie and Kyle found each other thanks to the magic of the internet. Kyle, after spending over a year searching for a beautiful, intelligent, compelling woman, came across Jamie and was struck by her eccentric and intelligent profile and decided to ask her out. Jamie had gone on many worthless dates up until this point (and even started blog about her ridiculous experiences); however, the email from Kyle marked a turning point. Jamie was amazed at such raw honesty, integrity, and seemingly genuine motivation to get to know her.

They met for the first time for a night in Baltimore filled with sushi and wine (a wine that became her all-time favorite). The navigation was a little quirky that night, and they ended up spending the first hour of the date walking the streets of Mount Vernon, Downtown Baltimore, looking for the place. They found it eventually; however, they both agree that getting lost on such a lovely early fall night was not a bad thing at all. The conversation on that romantic walk was fantastic and was the foundation for the beginning of the relationship. That first date, characterized by honesty and good energy, quickly led to additional dates and a serious relationship. They discovered that what began as a mutual attraction grew into how much they had in common. Respect grew into love and commitment.

Jamie and Kyle can both say that meeting each other was one of the most significant and best things that could have ever happened to them, and they quickly learned that this was the real deal. Neither had felt this way before about another person.

When Kyle couldn’t picture life without Jamie, he decided to dig some sapphires out of a mountain side in North Carolina and use that as inspiration to build Jamie's custom engagement ring. When Jamie heard this plan, she recognized how real, how true, how amazing, and how committed Kyle is.
